About the Event
You and your fellow volunteers will participate in fun, hands-on forest restoration work led by DNDA’s Nature team. Restoration work includes removing invasive plants, planting native species, and mulching new plantings. Specific activities depend on the time of year and restoration progress at each site.
What to bring:
- Please dress appropriately with long pants, warm and dry layers, closed-toed shoes and rain gear as needed. We work rain or shine!
- Bring any water you might want during the volunteer event
- If you have your own pair of work gloves, feel free to bring them. If not, we will have plenty
- Signed youth waiver form, if under 18

Camp Long is one of Seattle’s best-kept secrets. Located in West Seattle, this 68 acre park offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature, hike in the forest, camp overnight in rustic cabins, rock climb, and learn about natural history. Rental facilities include a lodge with one meeting room, kitchen space, 10 cabins, two covered picnic areas, a group fire ring, and a climbing rock. A talented staff of naturalists leads group environmental education and rock climbing classes. Programs at Camp Long are fun, interactive experiences for all ages.

Driving Directions to Side Entrance:
From I-5 or Route 99 (heading north or south):
* Take the West Seattle Bridge exit off either highway
* From the bridge take the Delridge Way SW/South Seattle College exit (right hand exit)
* Follow the exit as it winds around to the left & turns into Delridge Way
* Travel south on Delridge Way SW
* Turn right onto SW Brandon Street
Street parking is available here. Our staff will meet you at the trailhead through the gate on the north side of the listed cross streets.
Busing Directions: Accessible from the 120 bus stop at Delridge Way SW and SW Brandon St
Driving Directions to Main Entrance:
From I-5 or Route 99 (heading north or south):
* Take the West Seattle Bridge exit off either highway
* From the bridge take the Delridge Way SW/South Seattle College exit (right hand exit)
* Follow the exit as it winds around to the left & turns into Delridge Way
* Travel south on Delridge Way SW
* Turn right onto SW Genesee Street
* Turn left onto SW Avalon Way
* Turn left onto 35th Ave SW
* Turn left on SW Dawson St
* Our site location is just south of 34th Ave SW & Dawson Street.
Parking lot is available here. Our staff will meet you just in from the trailhead in the main parade field.
