About the Event

You and your fellow volunteers will participate in fun, hands-on forest restoration work led by DNDA’s Nature team. Restoration work includes removing invasive plants, planting native species, and mulching new plantings. Specific activities depend on the time of year and restoration progress at each site.

What to bring:

  • Please dress appropriately with long pants, warm and dry layers, closed-toed shoes and rain gear as needed. We work rain or shine!
  • Bring any water you might want during the volunteer event
  • If you have your own pair of work gloves, feel free to bring them. If not, we will have plenty
  • Signed youth waiver form, if under 18

What we provide:

  • Training on restoration activity and safety talk

Location: 1901 SW Genesee St. Near Pathfinder K-8 School (formerly Cooper Elementary School)

Driving Directions:

From I-5 or Route 99 (heading north or south)

* Take the West Seattle Bridge exit off either highway.

* From the bridge take the Delridge Way SW/South Seattle Comm. College exit (right hand exit).

* Stay to your left to exit onto Delridge Way SW.

* Turn left at SW Andover St. This is the first light after exiting off of the bridge.

* Turn right at 21st Ave. SW.

* Turn left at SW Genesee St.

Park in the Pathfinder K8 school parking lot.

Our staff will meet you at the park entrance located at the south end of the parking lot.

Busing Directions: Accessible from the 125 bus stop at 21st Ave SW and 22nd Ave SW
