Ribbon Cutting at Roxhill Park

We’re excited to invite you to a special community celebration marking the completion of a major milestone in the restoration of Roxhill Bog, one of Seattle’s few remaining peat wetlands. This past fall, an underground barrier was installed to help retain water within the landscape and prevent the bog from drying out. This innovative approach is intended to support the long-term health of Roxhill Bog and provide valuable insight for restoring peat wetlands across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Join us as we celebrate this important achievement! The Roxhill Bog Celebration is happening on Thursday, February 19, from 10:30am – 12:00pm at Roxhill Park. The event will feature guest speakers, guided bog tours, eco-art activities, along with coffee and snacks. This free, family friendly event is open to all ages.
