Clearing a path

Sharing is caring!

As our interns efforts are constantly challenging, today they partook in something creative and original. They created a passageway through blackberry onto a downhill slope in order to more easily transport mulch to other work sites in the greenbelt.

Starting from the top of the hill, they cut and cleared through blackberry, then as they made headway, they laid cardboard down and sheet mulched. This not only made it easier to transport mulch, it made it easier to get to the bottom of the hill faster which ultimately means you can cover more ground. Good job!

Later they went on to stake 25 trees which will help the roots to grow strong so they can support their canopy as they get older.
