Duwamish Alive! Earth Day – Registration Full

DNDA’s Nature Consortium program is hosting a volunteer event on Saturday, April 20th in celebration of Earth Day 2019. Our program, along with our friends at EarthCorps, will be co-hosting a fun and vibrant volunteer work party at Camp Long as part of a Duwamish Alive! Day of Service.

Past Earth Day events have brought hundreds of volunteers to our sites in an annual collaboration between our organizations dating back to 2006. Camp Long is a 60+ acre forested park that provides important ecosystem services to Longfellow Creek and the Duwamish River watershed. Earth Day volunteers provide a crucial boost to our year-round effort to restore sites to healthy evergreen forests. Volunteer restoration work will include invasive plant removal, mulching, and site maintenance. Our Earth Day work party will be accompanied by live musicians, bringing a fun creative element to our restoration tasks!

What to Bring: Please dress appropriately with long pants, warm and dry layers, closed-toed shoes and rain gear as needed. Please bring a refillable water bottle and a lunch if desired.

What we provide: Tools, gloves, training and safety talk, light snacks and water. Pizza will be served for volunteers at the conclusion of the event.
