We recently began restoration work at three additional sites in the area through a new partnership with Seattle Public Utilities and the Trees for Seattle program. This weekend, we’ll be working at our newest site on Longfellow Creek, near the intersection of 26th Ave SW and SW Juneau Street. We are hosting a community event on Saturday morning where we’ll be removing invasive plants and improving the health of the forest just east of the creek.

Later in October, we will be joining Georgetown Youth Council for a couple community events at Gateway Park North in Georgetown. In November, we will be hosting a pair of work events at a small site near the junction of Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Genesee St where we’ll be improving the aesthetic and hopefully environmental value of a landscaped traffic triangle.
These efforts are in addition to our usual work with the Green Seattle Partnership and the events will follow a similar format. Some events are still taking volunteer sign-ups — learn more and register through our event calendar.
