Strengthening Connections During Crisis

Sharing is caring!

Dear Community,
These challenging times lead us to search for meaningful connections, wherever they may be. DNDA’s Youngstown Cultural Arts Center is one of Seattle’s most familiar places for such connections – a home away from home for youth, families and artists to learn, and teach, and just be.

Helping to flatten the curve, for us, meant temporary closure of our beloved Youngstown on March 17th, but limited access to our physical space has sparked a new passion for what truly connects us – the space we hold for Community in our hearts.
As we endeavor to strengthen connections during this crisis, we introduce DNDA HeartSpace – the new online hub for art, virtual classes, and events facilitated by the amazing teaching artists, performers, and anchor tenant organizations of Youngstown Cultural Arts Center and DNDA. In this one-stop shop, each week offers over a dozen opportunities to participate in activities ranging from art-making to yoga to gardening lessons and more, and content is updated every couple days.

As an organization that’s concerned with the needs of the community, we invite you to talk to us. How are you holding up? What are you doing to strengthen connections during this crisis? Share your story with us here.

We look forward to connecting with you at HeartSpace, and hope you’ll share it with others who are looking for Community.

In health and hope,
Erika Bell
Youngstown Manager
