On Saturday, December 17th, DNDA hosted the fun-filled youth & family event, Winter Splendor, at our beautiful Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. The holiday-inspired event was held in partnership with Westside HEY Coalition, Southwest Seattle Youth Alliance, Seattle Public Schools, the YMCA Social Impact Hub, the Seattle Police Department, and Target. This event was the second in our collaborative efforts to facilitate fun and safe youth activities, with a focus on youth substance-prevention.
Santa and Bullseye, the Target mascot, brought joy and surprise to the kids, while art-making with DNDA Teaching Artist Jeneva Burton attracted kids and adults alike to create something festive and unique for their homes. A gift-shopping experience was provided by small business partner, Serious Essentials, with gift-wrapping by SPS conveniently located a few steps away!
The event was a great success, and a welcomed community-connecting experience. Keep an eye out for future events for youth and families.
