Summer in the Greenbelt

Sharing is caring!

Our summer restoration schedule went into effect this month – now we’re out in the greenbelt every day! Go to our Restoration Page (see links to the right) to see our current schedule or to RSVP for a work party.

We’re working with some great groups this summer, including Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP), Student Teen Employment Preparation (STEP), Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC), and Upward Bound. The STEP and SYEP groups will be working with us for 6 weeks, the YVC for two weeks, and Upward Bound will be with us until August.

Here is a recap of what we got done last week:

We worked at both the Cooper site and 14th & Holly. In total, we performed maintenance on 44,532 sq. ft. of land, 500 sq. ft. of sheet mulching, and cleared 4326 sq. ft. of invasive plants. That’s great progress in just a week! And there’s much more where that came from. Thanks, guys!
