Dear DNDA friends and community,
Thirty years. Our pearl anniversary.
For three decades, Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association has been rooted here in Delridge and in the greater West Seattle, and in the belief that strong communities are built when people have the opportunity to shape the places they call home.
Over those 30 years, DNDA has grown and changed alongside our community. We have created and preserved affordable housing, stewarded Youngstown Cultural Arts Center as a home for arts and culture, invested in our environment and green spaces, supported artists and youth, and brought neighbors together in countless ways.
And now, as we celebrate our pearl anniversary, we find ourselves at another important moment in DNDA’s story.
This past year has brought a transition in leadership and an opportunity to take a thoughtful look at where we have been, what our community needs from us now, and who we want to be for future generations. Our focus for the coming year is both ambitious and deeply practical: strengthening DNDA’s financial foundation, investing in the stewardship of our affordable housing and Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, deepening our community partnerships, and ensuring that our environmental, arts, and youth programs continue to thrive.
Most importantly, we want to remain an organization that is responsive to, and rooted in, the community we serve.
For these reasons, I hope you will join us for Wine in the Woods on Saturday, August 22, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Wine in the Woods has long been one of my favorite DNDA gatherings. It is a beautiful opportunity to step away from our busy lives, enjoy locally sourced wine and refreshments in a beautiful setting, reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and celebrate the community that makes this work possible.
This year, it feels especially meaningful.
Wine in the Woods is free to attend, but your presence matters. Showing up for DNDA means strengthening the network of neighbors, donors, volunteers, partners, artists, advocates, and friends who make our work possible. It means helping us continue to care for the natural spaces that make our neighborhood beautiful, create opportunities for young people and artists, preserve affordable homes, and keep spaces like Youngstown accessible to the community.
And, if you are in a position to make a gift, your financial support helps turn those commitments into action. Every contribution, large and small, helps DNDA enter our next 30 years from a place of greater strength and stability.
But first, come celebrate with us.
Come have a glass of wine. Spend some time in the woods. Bring someone you think should know DNDA. Reconnect with people you haven’t seen in a while. Meet someone new. And help us celebrate 30 years of people coming together to care for this little corner of the world we share.
