Music Education Gears Up At Youngstown

Sharing is caring!

Totem Star Luau @ Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in Seattle, WAOn Nov. 16th, Youngstown Cultural Arts Center hosted a Lu’au to benefit the Totem Star youth music program and the rejuvenation of the Youngstown recording studio.  The recording studio formerly housed classes offered through Youngstown’s All Access program, but following the closure of All Access, the studio became unused and outdated.  With a recent surge in inquiries about use of the Recording Studio, and the start of the Totem Star music program, Youngstown is working to update the equipment and prepare the studio for community use once again.  Soon, we hope to have the recording studio up and running again at full capacity, available for organizations and community members to rent in addition to its use for youth programs.

As we inventory and update the recording studio equipment, we are also undergoing a thorough evaluation of the technical equipment in our Theatre and Movement Studio.  We are just getting started, but we are making moves to keep our performance, event, and meeting spaces up-to-date with versatile technology that will continue to meet the needs of our many renters.  Plans include hanging a more comprehensive lighting plot in the theatre, adding much needed equipment to our inventory, and reorganizing our equipment storage to better serve the needs of each space.

Totem Star Luau @ Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in Seattle, WAThe Totem Star Lu’au was the first step into this overhaul of technical equipment.  We would like to extend our deepest thanks to those who attended; proceeds from the event will help us put some of our plans into action.  However, there is still a long way to go in keeping Youngstown up-to-date with modern technological needs.
