The Delridge Mural Project
The Delridge Mural Project is a Youngstown art program that brings together volunteers, local youth, and professional artists to help beautify the Delridge neighborhood with original artwork. After a great start in 2013, we’re gearing up for another summer project at Youngstown! Last summer, youth participants worked with artist Andrew Morrison to paint murals on twelve traffic signal boxes along Delridge Way. As part of Seattle’s Work Readiness Art Program, these students not only got to explore their artistic talents while engaging with their community, but also learned valuable job skills they can draw upon throughout their lives.
This year, volunteers and students will work with artist Louis Chinn and others to design and paint the 210-foot retaining wall across from the Delridge Skate Park, adding depth, color and art along the busy thoroughfare. The goal is to create a mural that honors the rich history of the Delridge area, and celebrates the bright future being created as a community.
And now for the best part: We want YOU, the Delridge community, to lend a hand in determining the content of the mural. So send us your ideas! Click on the link below to share what you would like to see as part of the mural design.

Your donation, large or small, is a show of support for Youngstown’s youth programs, and helps pay the teaching artists working on this project. Donations also allow DNDA and Youngstown to preserve the Delridge murals for years to come. Thank you!
