Tuesday Volunteer Event
We hold volunteer events every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year. Because this particular event is well into the future, we do not have specifics yet regarding location and tasks. Typical restoration work includes removing invasive plants, planting native species, and mulching new plantings, depending on the restoration progress in each site.
If you are interested in scheduling a group volunteering experience, please use this form to inquire about dates throughout the year.
What to bring: Long pants, warm and dry layers, closed-toed shoes and rain gear as needed. Bring any water you might want during the event. If you’d like to use your own gloves, please feel free. Otherwise, we will have plenty to share. Signed youth waiver form, if under 18.
What we provide: Tools, gloves, light snacks, education on restoration activity, and safety talk

Update 1.28.2025: This event is currently full and cannot accept more volunteers.
Help carry out a UW project establishing a Miyawaki Forest at our Longfellow Creek Central Forest site! The Miyawaki method is a method for establishing a fast-growing grove of native plants, intended to simulate the layers of a natural forest in a small area. You and your fellow volunteers will participate in this conservation work led by DNDA’s Nature team and UW. Restoration work includes removing invasive plants, planting native species, and mulching new plantings, depending on time of year and the restoration progress in each site.
