Middle School Success Summer Workshop
Ages: 11-12 yrs. (entering 6th/7th gr.)
Dates: July 24-28 – Session 1 or July 31- Aug 4 – Session 2

Overview & Purpose
The transition from elementary to middle school is a major life event. Kids need to know they aren’t alone in their feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. At this camp, your child will connect with other kids who are new to middle school*, engage in fun activities to build self-confidence and social skills with the guidance of an experienced educator and life coach, and hear inspiring personal stories and tips from older students who “survived” middle school and other big moves!
*We also welcome students who are not necessarily new to middle school, but could benefit from more opportunities to grow their social skills and organizational skills in preparation for a strong start to 7th grade this fall.
Objectives
To build self-confidence and growth mindset skills so that the big move to middle school seems more “do-able”
To build social skills by practicing strategies for making new friends
To have general or specific concerns/questions about middle school addressed
To decrease anxiety by processing feelings in a supportive group setting
