Miyawaki Forest at Longfellow Creek

Help carry out a UW project establishing a Miyawaki Forest at our Longfellow Creek Central Forest site! The Miyawaki method is a method for establising a fast-growing grove of native plants, intended to simulate the layers of a natural forest in a small area. You and your fellow volunteers will participate in this conservation work led by DNDA’s Nature team and UW.

Restoration work includes removing invasive plants, planting native species, and mulching new plantings, depending on time of year and the restoration progress in each site.
