Fall is coming soon, and we have many opportunities for you to dig in to restoration.

Day of Caring – September 20

Every year, United Way matches local companies with opportunities to give back to their communities. Join us in the woods with your coworkers and friends on Friday, September 20th. This is a great opportunity to help offset your carbon footprint and build stronger connections On Day of Caring, we’ll clear the area of invasive weeds to prepare the site for planting on Green Seattle Day on November 2nd.

Duwamish Alive! – October 19

Planting season is coming! Join hundreds of your neighbors on October 19th and kick off the planting season with Nature Consortium. This special service event is part of Duwamish Alive, a city-wide event to celebrate and restore the polluted Duwamish River. West Duwamish Greenbelt plays a critical role in filtering the air and water pollution created by urban runoff and industrial waste. Help us plant native trees and shrubs in the greenbelt and provide more pollution-fighting power!

Make a Difference Day – October 26

Looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Join Nature Consortium on October 26th for a special volunteer event as part of Make a Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Meet new friends and help restore important habitat in Seattle’s largest remaining forest. Volunteers will remove invasive weeds, plant native trees and shrubs, and spread mulch.

Green Seattle Day – November 2

Seattle’s forests need your help!  Green Seattle Day is a celebration of Seattle’s 2500 acres of forested parks and the committed neighbors who care for them. Without a coordinated effort, our city is at risk of losing 70% of its forests in just 20 years. Green Seattle Day is a meaningful way to connect with nature and create a healthy and vibrant community by planting native trees and shrubs in a park near you. The event takes place in 17 parks city-wide, and the West Duwamish Greenbelt is this year’s central hub site!
