Join our Volunteer Appreciation Potluck!
10 parks. 1,624 volunteers. 5,455 hours worked. 277,669 square feet of invasive plants removed. 2,344 native plants installed. This is what our volunteers are capable of.
All of this work was accomplished by our volunteers in just 10 months. Without their help, our forested parks would still be ravaged by Himalayan blackberry, English ivy and bindweed. Our native plants and trees would be struggling for access to resources and nutrients because invasive plants are such aggressive competitors. Each and every square inch of habitat restored has made a difference for the urban forest ecosystem and the surrounding community.
We are celebrating everyone’s hard work and accomplishments this year with a Volunteer Appreciation Potluck. There will be free food, refreshments, live music, and several displays of the work done in 2019 (and dietary restrictions will be accommodated for).
