Arts in Nature Festival 2016
Nature Consortium’s annual Arts in Nature Festival is right around the corner! On August 20th & 21st, at Camp Long located in West Seattle, we’re filling Seattle’s only campground with tons of art and music! Cabins will transform into light shows, and meadows will morph into stages…
The Arts in Nature Festival aims to encourage interaction between the artist and the festival-goer with creative activities. With over 40 performers, 13 artists, dance and poetry workshops, and mobile art studios, Camp Long becomes a site for the fusion of performance, artistry and community engagement.
Headlining on the main Nancy Stage, named after festival founder, Nancy Whitlock, will be Big World Breaks! BWB has worked with artists such as Janelle Monae, Macklemore, Digable Planets, Reggie Watts and many more, and they’re sure to bring the forest down on opening day! Other performances include reggae, West African, and funk music artists. There will also be a variety of other artists, such as visual artist, Markel Uriu, who will show her installation series entitled ‘Bower’. Additionally, writer and poet, Melanie Reed, will be hosting an all-day poetry workshop on Saturday. You can see a full line-up of both musical and visual artists on the festival page!
Can you say FOOD TRUCK? With a convoy of ’em, provided by Maven Food Trucks, you’ll have your pick of some of the best food around town. A beer garden, sponsored by Fremont Brewing & Georgetown Brewing, will quench your thirst without taking you too far from the main stage.
Tickets for the festival are $10 per day, and $16 for a weekend pass.
On Saturday, August 20, 2016 – 11am-9pm and Sunday, August 21, 2016 – 11am-6pm, join us at Camp Long: 5200 35th Ave SW, and experience the magic that is Arts in Nature Festival!
A special thanks goes out to all of the wonderful sponsors that make this festival possible each year.
