Celebrating Community at the First-Ever Delridge Winter Market
Celebrating Community at the First-Ever Delridge Winter Market
On Saturday, December 14, Youngstown Cultural Arts Center came alive with joy, laughter, and the vibrant energy of nearly 800 community members at the first-ever Delridge Winter Market! This milestone event, hosted in partnership with African Community Housing and Development (ACHD), was a beautiful celebration of culture, creativity, and connection.
The Delridge Winter Market, an extension of the popular Delridge Farmers Market, brought a festive and welcoming holiday experience to our community. The event showcased a diverse lineup of BIPOC-owned businesses, offering a unique array of goods and services. Guests explored booths throughout the building, enjoyed bites of freshly made food, hand-cranked fresh apple cider with the Apple Guy, listened to live music by HRVST House, and connected with passionate artisans and entrepreneurs.
Beyond shopping, the market provided a variety of free community resources, including fresh produce and youth haircuts. Families engaged in stamp art activities led by 4Culture using carved produce like broccoli, potatoes, bell peppers and carrots. Attendees were also treated to two live cooking demonstrations with chef Tina Fahnbulleh from Gold Coast Ghal Kitchen and chef Mahogany Williams of The Pickled Chef.
An Unforgettable Turnout
We were thrilled to welcome nearly 800 attendees—each contributing to the vibrant atmosphere and showing incredible support for local businesses. Together, we contributed $24,000 to our local economy and distributed over 300 pounds of fresh produce. Seeing neighbors connect, families laugh, and vendors thrive reinforced the importance of community-driven events like this.
Our Partners: The Heart of the Market
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable partnership of African Community Housing and Development and their incredible volunteers. Their year-round dedication to uplifting small businesses and connecting communities inspired every aspect of the winter market.
A special thank-you goes to the magic makers, Indra Budiman and Daniel Horst, who said “YES!” back in September and brought their positive market energy indoors to Youngstown. Together, we created a space that celebrated the unique voices, talents, and cultures of our neighborhood.
Looking Ahead
The success of the Delridge Winter Market has left us inspired and energized to do more. We’re already dreaming about future collaborations!
To everyone who attended, shopped, volunteered, or spread the word—thank you for making this event unforgettable. Your enthusiasm and support fuel our mission to build a stronger, more connected Delridge community.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming events and ways to get involved by subscribing to our monthly newsletter and following us on Instagram (@DelridgeNeighborhoods and our friends at @ACHDSeaTac), LinkedIn and Facebook.
