AmeriCorps VISTA: DNDA Community Engagement & Development Specialist
This position is made available through AmeriCorps and United Way of King County.
Member Duties: The VISTA member will fight poverty by increasing the agency’s capacity to help families living in West Seattle and White Center gain familiarity with resources, build relevant programs and curriculum with the goal of connecting low-income families to educational and community resources to achieve financial stability.
The Community Engagement and Development Specialist VISTA will:
- assess need and identify program/service gaps,
- plan programs in concert with the Housing Asset Manager,
- create best practice tool-kits, organize volunteers,
- and create a fund-development work plan in concert with the Development Director.
Required Eligibility:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a US citizen, national or legal permanent resident alien of the US; For this federally-stipend program, F1 Visas are not sufficient
- Must be available and on site 40 hours a week Monday – Friday from March 16, 2020, through March 15, 2021
- Must already live (or be willing to move) within a 15 minute drive or 60 minute public transit commute from your service location.
