Thank You Domenica for Your Dedicated Service to DNDA
We want to take a moment to bid a fond farewell to Domenica Lovaglia, who stepped down at the beginning of this year to embrace the next chapter of her life after an incredible 13 years of service on DNDA’s Board of Directors.
Domenica has been one of DNDA’s biggest champions since she joined the board in 2012, serving the majority of that time as our board president. Time after time, she has opened her home, her workplace, and her calendar to support DNDA and its programming.
“In the short time I’ve had to learn from, grow with, and look up to Domenica, she has consistently shown up and shown out,” said Executive Director Mesha Florentino. “From pride parades to pie nights, I learned what community truly means by the way she walks the talk. Her confidence and the way she moves through the world like a storm will truly be missed on the board. Thank you for your service.”
In her professional life, Domenica is co-founder and Managing broker of Metropolist. Domenica joined DNDA at a low period and has seen, and helped create, more than a decade of growth. This has included acquisition of new housing and parks properties, and a major merger with the nonprofit Nature Consortium in 2016.
“DNDA is an amazing agent for bringing people together and helping to build and sustain the community,” Domenica said. “Helping to guide its renewal and growth has been one of the greatest honors of my career.”

Domenica has been instrumental in so many moments, including numerous times we have hosted our flagship fundraiser Destination Delridge at Metropolist’s beautiful event space in SoDo.
“She models leading with heart, practicality, and unrivaled authenticity,” said current Board President Shannon Woodard, who has worked with Domenica for nearly a decade. “Her insistence on moving through the world with an equity lens would change the world if more people adopted it. Her disdain for the status quo regularly moves us forward as individuals and as a community.”
Please join us in celebrating Domenica and her incredible contributions to DNDA. While we will miss her insight and vision, we are excited for what her future holds. On behalf of the entire organization, we extend our deepest thanks to Domenica for her years of service and dedication.
