DNDA Hosts The Cultural Stage at Delridge Day 2016
DNDA is excited to host the Cultural Stage this Saturday, August 13th at Delridge Day 2016! Delridge Day is an annual one-day festival hosted by VIEWS, a non-partisan community organization, supporting the neighborhood of Delridge.
The DNDA Cultural Stage will feature a diverse ray of talent: Los Mixtecos, a dance group comprised of children ages 6-12, who will perform a cultural dance originating from Oaxaca, Mexico called ‘Las Chilenas’. Additional features include the Abaraka Trio, performing West African music utilizing Kora, drum, and bass instruments to relay the sounds of Mande West African music. Then, a presentation by The Van Lang Vietnamese Cultural School, an organization which aims to maintain Vietnamese language and culture by representing different regions of Vietnam through performance, will follow. The fourth and final performance will be Dora Oliviera’s Dance Brazil, who specialize in a variety of Brazilian dances including Samba, Orisha and Candomble.
These vibrant and varied performances celebrate and mirror the wonderful cultural diversity of the Delridge community. Join us at the DNDA Cultural Stage on August 13, 2016, 11am-3pm, at Delridge Community Park, and celebrate your neighborhood!
And look out for our next cultural series event: Children’s Moonlight Festival, September 11th at the Vietnamese Cultural Center!
